claim to fame: the ever-sweet and cute girl, she's extremely friendly and quite popular. Inspired by her idol, Kasha, she is very ambitious in her studies. Unfortunately, doesn't get along well with her elder sister, Zalanda, who often picks on her.

Aena is the Anime-style pixie (and dedicated mascot) for Anime Extravaganza. She's on the first page, dressed as a cute diner waitress. That picture was drawn in pencil, coloured with PhotoShop.

Originally created in my sketchbook, many sketches of her have appeared in notes and on loose paper. Before long, I decided to scan one of my early sketches, editing and colouring it on my computer. I first created the comic series starring Aena called Green Corner in my Cartooning classes in college. The strips are out of sequence, but will later be available for viewing on this site.

Aena's name was originally just a couple letters added onto A and E, so that she would be known as a part of AE. When looking through a Japanese-English dictionary, I found a translation that said something like: "A well known drawing ... to a certain extent." Of course, I don't more than a few words of Japanese, so as far as I know, that translation may be completely inaccurate.
