A Brief Introduction to Marmalade Boy

First of all, it is helpful to read the Name Reasoning, and the Questionable Household.

So, assuming, you have read those, I will go on...

Miki and Yuu end up living in the same house because their parents decide to divorce, switch partners and re-marry.

Gradually, Miki falls for Yuu, who is sometimes sweet even though he seems mean.

Nobody knows exactly where Yuu fell for Miki, but he likes to tease her -- I guess that's his way of flirting, although it seems rather juvenile.

When Miki gets knocked unconcious at school one day, she re-awakens in the health room, with her best friend Meiko by her side.

Once assured that Miki is okay, Meiko offers to fetch Miki's things before they walk home together.

When she hears Yuu is going to come in to see her, Miki pretends to be asleep in the hopes that he won't ridicule her.

However, Yuu kisses the "sleeping" Miki, and leaves. He continues to act like his usual self -- teasing her and displaying little to no emotion -- however.

To complicate matters, Miki's friend Ginta confesses his feelings to Miki. Miki now has to choose -- Yuu, or Ginta?

Fortunately things work out for everyone in the midst of all this confusion...(Hah! You thought I'd tell you didn't you?)

Agent Em here, putting in my two cents again! Marmalade Boy is a shoujo series. So I guess it is kind of "girlie."

But in any case, I think it's great. (Note: I don't normally go for this kind of thing, I tend to go for mystery, horror, sci-fi, thriller, etc.)

It's crazy, funny, and romantic...but there are sad parts too. It's an adorable series, and I just love it!!

So go watch the anime and or read the manga 'Kay?
