Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon) is a manga and anime series which follows the life of fourteen year old Usagi Tsukino and her friends. In the beginning of the series, she learns something rather startling from a mysterious talking cat called Luna. Apparently, Usagi is the super heroine Sailor Moon who must defend the earth from all evil with her magical fighting powers. Of course, this makes her life extremely complicated...

Despite her wishes to be a normal teenage girl, Usagi must persevere for the sake of humankind. It's a good thing she has some help from some other people. Like the dashing hero, Tuxedo Mask, a young man who has sworn to protect her. But he usually just makes a distractingly dramatic entrance, with his signature throwing of a red rose. The hardest part is still up to Sailor Moon.

Tuxedo Mask is really Mamoru Chiba, a young man who often teases Usagi is everyday life. After some time, he realizes who Sailor Moon really is. Fortunately, they are aided in their quest by other sailor soldiers who each represent a different planet in the solar system. It is also revealed that Usagi is actually the reincarnation of Princess Serenity, and that she was deeply in love with an Earth prince named Endymion, who just so happened to be reincarnated into Mamoru Chiba.

It looks like Usagi will never have that normal life again. And, despite her sometimes selfish whining, she is a person of astounding character who will always put those she loves before herself. Although she often seems like a crybaby and a wimp, Usagi is a strong-willed, perseverant individual who undoubtedly grows from her experiences with her companions and learns to accept who she truly is — Usagi Tsukino, kind-hearted teenage girl; and Sailor Moon, fighter for love and justice.
